Born on June 2 in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Edward Edmund George Wright, known professionally as Kontri Boss, is a multifaceted artist who has been enthralling audiences with his captivating voice, electrifying stage presence, and genre-bending sound. Kontri Boss’s music seamlessly blends Afrobeat, Afro-fusion, Dancehall, R&B, and Hip Hop, creating a unique sonic experience that resonates with fans across the globe.

Growing up, Edward’s earliest performances were in church, singing at events and celebrations during his primary and junior secondary school days. These formative experiences not only helped him develop his vocal skills but also instilled in him a deep passion for performing. As he honed his craft, Kontri Boss discovered his talent for songwriting, penning hits for numerous male and female singers both locally and internationally. Some of his notable songwriting credits include “Nobody” by Heyden Adama, “Tranga yase Borbor” by Nasser Ayoub, and songs for Zainab Sherriff, among many others.
